VIGLA PISODERI is one of the most underrated ski resorts in Northern Greece, especially for snowboarders and freeriders. With great tree runs and more consistent snowfall than the mountains further South, it’s definitely one of the most playful hills around. It has 2 chairlifts, one Anchor lift and a two baby lifts.
GETTING THERE
From Athens – head North to Thessaloniki and then towards Florina.
From Thessaloniki – Go North towards Florina. There are signs by the road leading to the resort.
LOCAL TIPS
Go play in the trees. Some areas are thicker than others but there’s tons of fun to be had in between the Robola. Also, the skiroad that descends underneath the bottom (pisoderi) lift is crazy fun!!!
BACKCOUNTRY
If you want to go off-piste there’s a good variety of backcountry to hit. We mainly suggest heading across the valley, up towards Dobra Voda peak. To get there, follow the road up from the ski area parking lot, towards the wind generators. Once you get to the first peak, head East down across the plateau, to the old abandoned hut, and from there choose your line. Remember to check the snow conditions and be safe!
